Confucius Classroom Munich participated in the "International Folk Music Festival" to celebrate the National Day

October 3, 2011, when the whole China celebrated the National Day, Confucius Classroom Munich was invited to participated in the “International Folk Music Festival” which was organized by Germany Passau News Publishing Group, Press Foundation, the National Park Folk Museum Village and the United Association of Germany, Austria and Czech Republic. That day was also the German National Day.

The festival was one of the series activities on "European citizens --- My Hometown, Our European" The performance groups from China, Austria, Czech Republic, Greece, Russia and Germany gathered in Passau and dedicated a visual feast to the audience.

The performance group of Confucius classroom Munich was the only non-European performance team invited to this event. When we just arrived, the performance group was warmly welcomed by the audience. The actors and actresses dressed in brilliant national costumes which were very beautiful and eye-catching in the Folk Museum Village. Many visitors took out of the cameras and posed for pictures with the actors and actresses.

The show stared at 12 noon. First, the vibrant Chinese girls played the Mongolian dance "Joy of the Prairie" and the Xinjiang dance "Happy Girls." Then, the wonderful singers performed Chinese folk songs --- "Good Luck", "Back Home", and the duet “Liu Hai Cut Wood”, “The Bell rings and the Jade Bird Sings” and so on. Then, the dance team led by the teacher Zhou Min performed the Yi Dance --- "Torch Festival". Their exciting programs attracted more and more visitors to watch. Whenever the music ended, the audience responded with warm applause and cheers.

Throughout the festival, the performance of Confucius classroom Munich brought a rich ethnic characteristics of Chinese song and dance to the German audience, added the Eastern elements, and stirred up a strong Chinese wind to the International Folk Music Festival.
