Konfuziusinstitute Munich Celebrated 2012 Chinese New Year
22nd Jan. 2012, Munich

On 22nd January, 2012, the eve of Chinese New Year, Konfuziusinstitute Munich and German Alumni Association of TUM (Technical University of Munich) jointly organized the 2012 Chinese New Year party. The vice-president of TUM Prof. Meng Liqiu, the director of the Studentenwerk Munich and the main lead of TUM Alumnic were all invited to this party. More than a hundred Chinese and foreign friends, the students of Confucius Classroom Munich gathered together to celebrate the Chinese Dragon Year's coming.

Before the performance started, some people were making dumplings around a big table, and many foreign friends were very interested in it, standing around there and watching. Some of them even joined to try to make it. At the party, Confucius Class Munich invited the famous local folk music band “Ji Yue Tian” to play the traditional Chinese folk music for the guests. The opening music "Blooming Flowers and Full Moon" brought the party's Spring Festival atmosphere to a climax.

It was not allowed to touch off fireworks in Munich, so the organizers prepared innovatively a number of balloons for the guests to tear them when finishing the New Year countdown. In the snapping sound of balloons and the laughter of the people, the 2012 Chinese Lunar New Year arrived .

A sumptuous dinner was also offered at the party, so that everybody could enjoy the authentic, traditional Chinese food on this special time. People talked and laughed in a relaxed atmosphere.

One of the most exciting parts of the party was the lucky drawing. The winners could get a learning voucher provided by Konfuziusinstitute Munich. The dramatic thing was that the first prize winner was a student of Konfuziusinstitute Munich.

This 2012 Chinese New Year get-together reached to a successful and satisfactory conclusion! We hope the particularly auspicious Chinese Dragon Year will bring more prosperousness and harmony to China!
