According to the statistics of the German Tea Association, German people bought tea up to 18,300 tons in the year of 2011 alone. In other words, each German drinks tea about 26 liters on average annually. So we can see that Germans are very fond of tea. China as one of the world's most important tea producers has a very long history of tea culture. Not just in China, now more and more Germans also start to like the taste of Chinese tea. Thus, in Germany, about one fifth of the tea is imported from China. Then , how is Chinese tea made? What is the culture of Chinese tea? Mr. KANG Wei, the Chinese teacher of Confucius Classroom Munich, answered the questions in his lecture, and he took the audience to experience the cultural tour of Chinese tea by the time .

Along with the beautiful melody of koto, Mr. Kang first introduced the history of Chinese tea culture and its great significance to Chinese people. Subsequently, he demonstrated and showed the seven categories of Chinese tea, such as green tea, red tea, oolong tea, black tea, white tea, yellow tea and flower tea, etc. Meanwhile, Mr. Kang explained the five basic processes of Chinese tea production--- plucking, withering, fermenting, drying and rolling. Finally, the audience watched a short Chinese tea show , so they recognized the tea tools and the effect of Chinese tea. This cultural salon is the overture for the Chinese Tea Culture Week which will be held on 7th to 11th July in Munich.
